The IT Department has implemented several layers of security to protect the city’s network and information. These include firewalls, web filters, VPN technologies, Anti-Virus, Spam filters and numerous multi-level switch layers.
The City of Acworth uses Edmunds and Associates software applications. The system is used to track, maintain, and store power and utility processes, as well as financial records and other applications.
Servers and Workstations
Windows based servers and desktops are utilized in each department. Operating systems include Windows 7 and 10 on the desktops. Server applications include Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. We also use NetGear ReadyNAS appliances for file storage and replication.
