Alderman Butch Price recognized Van Jacobs for 17 years of service with the Acworth Planning & Zoning Commission at the Thursday, September 21 regular city council meeting. At the Thursday, September 7 regular city council meeting, Alderman Pugliese presented the City of Acworth's United States Air Force Day proclamation to Eldrige Holloway and encouraged residents to remember and thank our active military veterans. Mr. Holloway served in the USAF on active duty from 1978 to 1995 and returned to Georgia after retirement. United States Air Force Day is celebrated on September 18.
At the Thursday, September 7 regular city council meeting, Alderman Price presented the City of Acworth's Constitution Week proclamation to members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Darla Valentini, Barbara Benson, Jane Bentley, and Betty Westbrook were in attendance to accept the proclamation. Constitution Week is September 17-23, and is celebrated annually to commemorate the 1787 adoption of the United States Constitution.
The City of Acworth is pleased to announce that Development Director, Alex Almodovar, has been recognized by the Cobb Chamber with the Cobb Young Professionals Next Generation Award for demonstrating leadership ability in the community and his current role and offering a unique perspective. At the August 3, 2023 regular city council meeting, representatives of the Sons of the American Revolution presented Chief Jesse Evans with a certificate in appreciation of his service as a first responder.
