Proclamation in Honor of United States Air Force Day

At the Thursday, September 7 regular city council meeting, Alderman Pugliese presented the City of Acworth's United States Air Force Day proclamation to Eldrige Holloway and encouraged residents to remember and thank our active military veterans. Mr. Holloway served in the USAF on active duty from 1978 to 1995 and returned to Georgia after retirement. United States Air Force Day is celebrated on September 18.

DAR Accepts Constitution Week Proclamation

At the Thursday, September 7 regular city council meeting, Alderman Price presented the City of Acworth's Constitution Week proclamation to members of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Darla Valentini, Barbara Benson, Jane Bentley, and Betty Westbrook were in attendance to accept the proclamation. Constitution Week is September 17-23, and is celebrated annually to commemorate the 1787 adoption of the United States Constitution.

Proclamation in Recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, September 2023

Recognition of Cadets for their performance at the 2023 Summer Showdown

Chief Jesse Evans recognized Corporal Eric Mistretta, head of the cadet program, for leading the Acworth Cadets in their recent competition for the 2023 Public Safety Cadet Summer Showdown in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.  There were another 149 cadet teams that participated who represented sixty agencies from eighteen states, with over 530 cadets.  Among all the teams, one of our squads was awarded second place in the Force Options category!  Corporal Mistretta's spouse also assisted the cadets in their accomplishments, which lead to the cadets giving her READ MORE

Recognition of Corporal Eric Mistretta for his achievement at the DARE certification school

Corporal Eric Mistretta was recognized for completion of a two-week DARE recertification program and being honored at the graduation ceremony with the Joanne Chauncey Award. Ribbon Cutting Celebrating Honor My Pet

Mayor Allegood and the Acworth Team welcomed Honor My Pet to the city with a ribbon cutting on Friday, June 16. Honor My Pet is located at 4494 Acworth Industrial Drive (next to the Acworth Police Department) and offers cremation services for pet owners. The city celebrates this family-owned business to help serve our community's families with pets.
