Streets Division maintains approximately 180 lane miles of road and right of way. This includes paved roadway, storm drains and culverts, road striping, street sign repair, street sweeping and fall leaf pick-up. There is currently one traffic signal within the City that we also maintain, Cowan Rd and Spring Street.
The divison has contract authority to effect major roadway design changes and upgrades through engineering contracts and supervises resulting construction projects through the Contract Administration branch. Public Works coordinates with other municipals, as well as federal and state agencies such as GDOT, CDOT, CSX, FHWA, EPA, and COE when required.
