The Acworth Public Safety Cadets - Unit 4440 partnered with Acworth Power and Public Works to host the first quarter City Clean Up Challenge for 2023 on Saturday, March 18, 2023. The Cadets and community volunteers focused on Cowan Connector and Cowan Road to Spring Meadow Drive. Cadets and Volunteers filled 25 bags (95-gallons each) with trash. In addition to the filled bags, several tires were removed along with other miscellaneous large items.
This clean up also resulted in the discovery of a clogged storm water drain. This particular drain was clogged with plastic bottles, trash bags, balls, and a TV. Items were removed which opened the drain to allow water to began flowing again. Thank you to all of the volunteers who came out to help.
